'yoo berlin' is a luxury residential project within the project "Am Zirkus" with interior design by 'yoo – inspired by Starck' that was developed by Peach Property Group in Germany. It won the first prize of the European Property Awards in London in the category 'Best apartment in Europe'. This is the first time that the award was given to a residential project in Germany. The Eike Becker_Architekten design for the erection of an office building and four apartment houses and for the use of a railway switching tower classified as a listed monument won the fist prize in the competition organized by Heidelberger Wohnwerte Projektgesellschaft GmbH. The concept for the implementation of a mixed-use premises with a gastronomy facility in the listed switching tower 08 provides for five different buildings.


In front of the main hall of the new Berlin Brandenburg International Airport, on the south end of the open plaza, is the Steigenberger hotel. The building in a block design on an area of 74 x 57 metres is six storeys high. You enter the four-star superior hotel through an arcade as high as two floors. The building's concrete structure is clad in matt natural stone slabs. Besides the reception and lobby the complete ground floor is dominated by a 1,500 sq m conference centre. From the first to the fifth floor the hotel boasts 323 single and double rooms and suites. The clear height of all rooms is 2.8 metres. Since late July the first model room has been open for the public to view, the opening is planned for the spring of 2013. Becker next to Brecht – the plans of Eike Becker_Architekten give a clear shape to the new design of Bertolt-Brecht-Platz: The shell of the ten-storey building close to the Berliner Ensemble has been completed.


28 projects documented on over 480 pages provide an overview of how Eike Becker_Architekten work and think. This monograph reveals their methods and their conviction that architecture is an expression and a prerequisite of a society which keeps changing in ever more surprising ways. The building is in one line with a new building on its left and an old house on its right, thus creating an interesting living environment in Kollwitzstrasse. Like a shelf system the facade with its alternating horizontal and vertical lines is integrated between the two existing buildings. Behind the glass and aluminium facade six spacious maisonettes and apartments are planned on eight floors, with two more in the garden house on the rear side.


An award-winning design by Eike Becker_Architekten: The project company CENTRUM Hainspitze GmbH (CENTRUM GmbH and First GmbH) is planning the erection of a high-quality office building in the inner city area of Leipzig. The chosen premises is a key element for the development of the north-western access to inner Leipzig.
