The Berlin start-ups of the 19th century were called AEG, Borsig and Siemens. They laid the foundation for their success stories in backyards that are still typical of the capital today. As industrialization progressed, loud and traffic-intensive production increasingly moved to the periphery. Thanks to digital technologies and innovative production methods, it is now possible to produce quiet, clean, space-saving and environmentally friendly products. Industry can thus again take place in the middle of the city - and lead the commercial estates of the past into the modern age.
