Topping-out ceremony,
WQtel Bremen

After ten months of building work the topping-out ceremony for the new Steigenberger hotel in Bremen was held on December 13. The building has a prominent position in the group of solitaire buildings in the Weser quarter. Due to the wide eaves on its narrow sides towards the water and the land the bar-shaped hotel radiates a degree of lightness. The seven-storey building with 140 rooms and suites is classified as a four-star hotel. The facades highlight the supporting structure of pillars and ceilings. The structural elements are faced with aluminium on the outside, with the room-height glass sections in between them and their composition of transparent and coloured panels making for a varied, vivid appearance.
