Eike Becker_Architekten and the project developer Deutsche Wohnwerte have been awarded the contract for development site E4.2 in Heidelberg’s Bahnstadt district. The approximately 4,700 m² plot is located in the western part of Bahnstadt on Eppelheimer Straße. Agnesistraße, which runs westward, connects Eppelheimer Straße with Langer Anger.

The decision in the concept competition organized by the City of Heidelberg marks an important milestone. The planning requirements for implementing the project are now being established.

The design encompasses a mixed-use concept across approximately 12,000 m² of gross floor area: large commercial spaces, a café and restaurant on the ground floor, as well as subsidized apartments and condominiums on the upper floors.

In terms of urban planning, the project ties in with the neighboring Telekom site and complements the existing ensemble. The development strengthens the neighborhood structure along Eppelheimer Straße and blends into the surrounding area.

With its mix of uses and high quality of life, the project contributes to the further development of Bahnstadt and the creation of a vibrant, mixed-use neighborhood.
